I joined Selective Personnel in 2023, bringing over 20 years of experience in the Hospitality and Recruitment industries. Throughout my career, I've held nearly every position in hospitality, from Kitchen Porter to General Manager, and transitioned into Hospitality Recruitment 12 years ago.

As the Director of Growth at Selective Personnel, I am dedicated to expanding our business. My role involves establishing new client relationships, refining processes, and strategically planning for our expansion into new geographies to support our continued growth.

Briony Melrose

Office Manager

I joined Selective Personnel in 2018 as a staff member, working in a range of hospitality roles then joined the head office team in 2021.I have learned a lot and gained a lot of experience within the hospitality industry throughout my time at Selective and now work as the Recruitment Office Manager.

As Office/Payroll manager I am responsible for organising check-in support for all of our events and helping with the day to day running of the office team. I also ensure payroll is sent in a timely manner each week.

Lyndsay Caldwell

Recruitment Consultant

I first joined Selective Personnel in 2021 as a staff member, working across several of our venues. In May 2025, I joined the head office team. I’ve gained hands-on experience across a wide range of hospitality settings—including weddings, conferences, rugby and football game days, and luxury hotels, gaining an understanding of client needs.

As a Recruitment Consultant, I ensure our staff consistently meet client expectations. My role includes conducting check-ins, staff bookings, induction days, strengthening client relationships and expanding the company’s network across Edinburgh.

I joined Selective Personnel in January 2025 after graduating from university with a Marketing Management degree in July 2024. Throughout my time at university I gained a lot of experience within the hospitality industry through different part-time jobs and this continued after university with my first job being social media marketing within the food and beverage industry!

The opportunity to join Selective Personnel seemed like a no brainer with so many of my friends having worked for or still currently working for Selective! My position allows me to capture all of the events we attend as well as shining a light on our amazing staff that help these events run smoothly. It is also important that I continue to shout about all the work we do in order to gain more fun experiences for our staff and ultimately grow as a company!

Payroll Assistant

I joined Selective Personnel in February 2024 and have worked in the hospitality industry for over 9 years including working front of house for Selective Personnel. After gaining my master's in accounting, Finance and Regulation I have worked as an accountant for hospitality, construction and consulting clients for 4 years and passed my ACCA professional exams
As a Payroll Assistant, my role involves answering payroll queries, sending weekly payroll reports, calculating holiday pay entitlement and preparing invoices for client payments.
